Margaret Harper Powers departed this life Sept. 20, 2008.

Born on March 30, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late William and Grace Harper, she was a graduate of Stratford College in Danville, Virginia. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a longtime member of Portage Country Club.

Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Pope Powers; brother, William T. Harper, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn Proom and Ann Harper; and son-in-law, Douglas Parry; she is survived by daughters, Margaret Parry of Avon, Ohio and Susan Joseph Ertl of E. Rochester, Ohio; grandchildren, Holly Carpenter, Margaret Timothy Pomfret, Megan Joseph Yuska and William Stephany Parry; seven great- grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth Porth of Baltimore, MD.

We would like to thank the staff of Rockynol for their kindness and support of our mother.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church corner of W. Market St. and Kenilworth Dr. with Rev. Mark J. Pruitt officiating. Friends may call at the chapel ½; hour before services. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron 44313 or Rockynol Retirement Community, 1150 W. Market St., Akron 44313.
