Margery S Wright

Margery S. Wright Sturdevant passed away at home on Sunday, October 31, after a short illness.

She was born January 1, 1931 in Couders-port, Pa. and resided in W. Akron for most of her life. She was a 1948 graduate of Buchtel High and The University of Akron Class of 1952. She was secretary to the Vice President of AC&Y Railroad, Dr. Zeiss. She married J. Kenneth Wright on May 3, 1953 and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Later she worked for Akron Legal News and then for 19 years for Judge Spicer, Summit County Probate Court. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and she belonged to the Akron Woman's City Club. She loved family gatherings, attending her grandchildren's events, playing cards with her bridge clubs, reading, watching musicals and old movies. She was an avid Indians and Cavs fan. Margery will be remembered by her friends as kind, loyal and always thinking of others.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene B. and Maurine W. Sturdevant. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Kenneth; sister, Susan Sturdevant of Willoughby; daughter, Linda Wright-Bower of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; son, John K. Sue Wright, Jr. of Akron; daughters, Leslie Tim Crow of Stow, Janet McMillin of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Lauren Bill Walder of Beaver Falls, Pa.; grandchildren, Meredith and Matthew Bower, Christine and Ricky Black, David and Katie Wright, Michael, Gabriel, Noel and Natalie Crow, Clint, Katelyn, Patricia and John McMillin, Melissa, Simon and Emily Walder.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 5th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, with Rev. Bill Walder officiating. Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, P.O. Box 38, Columbus, OH 43216-0038.
