Maria B. Todorovic, 90, died Oct. 13, 2010.
Born in Croatia, she immigrated to Akron from Austria in 1952 with her husband and daughter.
Maria taught French, German, and Spanish for the Akron Public Schools for 31 years. She was one of the original staff at Firestone High School when it was first opened in the early '60's and retired from Firestone in 1991.
Following retirement she became very active in Tuesday Musical Club and the International Club. She served as a docent with the Akron Art Museum, and was passionate about traveling, reading, and learning.
Preceded in death by husband, Zivojin, she is survived by daughter, Magdalena James McClure; grandchildren, Leslie McClure Randy Peters and Michael McClure; and sister, Milka Besic of Croatia.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. SUNDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. There are no services. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Tuesday Musical Club, 1 S. Main St. #301, Akron 44308 or the Akron Art Museum, 70 E. Market St., Akron 44308.
