Marianne Virginia Herman, 70, passed away October 30, 2010.
Marianne Virginia Herman was born to Stanley and Agnes Martin. The family lived in Bath, on Yellow Creek Road, in the big redwood house her father built. Marianne graduated from Revere High School and from there became a stewardess for United Airlines. On a plane headed to New York, she met the love of her life, Bernie Herman. For 34 years they shared a life of love, compassion and respect. San Francisco, California was their home where Bernie worked on Navy ships and Marianne attended the ``Creative Art and Writing Classes' at the San Francisco Jewish Center for 23 years.
Under the guidance of teacher and best friend, Roberta Pressman, Marianne composed beautiful poetry, elaborate stories and created many lovely sketches. Our family would like to say, to all who knew her at the JCC of San Francisco, Marianne so enjoyed your friendship and often talked so highly of everyone and all the programs she was involved with there. We just wanted you to know that she loved you all very much!
We would like to thank Rockynol where Marianne resided the last nine months. We found visiting her at night was best because she was often too busy with the activities and socializing with residents during the day.
Marianne joins her beloved husband, Bernie, her brother, Eugene Martin and her brother-in-law, Richard Fulton. She is loved and will be missed by her sister, Carolyn Fulton and brother, Stanley Phyllis Martin; nephews and nieces, Blaine and Kristen, Jeff, Michelle and Greg.
A private service celebrating her life will be held at the Carroll Center at Rockynol Retirement Community with interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
