Marie M. Ginter, 75, died Tuesday, Feb 8. She succumbed, somewhat suddenly, to the accumulated ravages of Polycystic Kidney Disease and Parkinson Disease. Her patience, fortitude, and courage as she battled both of these progressive diseases was admirable.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Sam and Theresa (Rudolpho) Posateri (both deceased) and the devoted sister of Madeline Skoll. She was the affectionate and supportive wife of 54 years to William J Ginter and the very caring and dedicated mother of Laura M Ginter. Her 10 nieces and nephews were special to her, as were her cousins. Her Sicilian heritage was most obvious in the importance family played in her life and her fierce devotion to loved ones.
In addition, she showered attention and affection on the very fortunate 11 dogs who became family members, in pairs and trios, over the years. Combos of large, stately Leonbergers and bouncy, energetic Golden Retrievers, they were all sources of pride and affection. As she, Bill, and Laura, moved many times over the years, she first joined the HR staff of a new Target store in St Louis and proceeded to be an important member of 4 new locations throughout the Midwest and retired from the Akron/Fairlawn store.
Marie was always grateful and appreciative of the care and support the staff of the Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and their affiliated agencies, provided her family and the role they play in the community. She would also wish that the help and support she received, over the last couple of difficult years, from Diana Wilson and Michael Vitarella, be gratefully acknowledged.
