Marie Mcdougal

Marie L. McDougal (Kanzig) 88, of Copley passed away January 23, 2016.

Born on November 20, 1927, in Beallsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Alma and Lawrence Kanzig. Marie was a resident of Copley for 65 years. She retired from Akron Public Schools as a teacher with 31 ½ years of service. She enjoyed winters in Florida, traveling, painting, square dancing, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leslie, her parents, and brothers, Vernon and Kenneth. Survivors include daughter, Sherry (Richard) Bear, son, Sheldon (Margie) McDougal; grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Borla, Suzi (Walter) Kusper, Melissa (Don) Tomasik, Ryan (Amy) McDougal, Jeff (Kate) McDougal and Doug McDougal; 12 great-grandchildren, sister, Nada Williams and her special companion, Lexie, her dog.

Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N Miller Rd., on
Thursday from 4 to 7 PM, where service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016
at 11 AM with Rev. Dianne Shirey officiating. Entombment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 304 Chicago, Illinois 60611-3201. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
