Marilyn Bangs

September 14, 1933 — July 31, 2016

Marilyn J. (Reapp) Bangs
Marilyn J. (Reapp) Bangs, 82, passed away July 31, 2016 in Medina, OH.
Marilyn was born on September 14, 1933 in Akron, OH to Lydia and Raymond Reapp. She graduated from Stow High School in 1951, attended Denison University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kent State University.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her one and only true love, Dr. Howard W. Bangs. Widowed at 34, Marilyn forged ahead on her own to raise her four children - teaching them through her actions how to be as strong, independent and courageous as she was.
Marilyn was president of Reapp Printing Company for nearly 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and dedicated many years volunteering for Support Inc. She enjoyed spending time outdoors - gardening, birdwatching and hiking with her dogs in the MetroParks and Cuyahoga Valley. She was happiest with her beloved grandchildren sharing with them her love of animals, wildflowers and classical music.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Stout, Michael (Michelle) Bangs, James Bangs and Susan (David) Samuelson, and her grandchildren, Philip and Alexandra Stout, Jack and Steven Samuelson and Lauren Bangs.
Services will be held Friday, August 5 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313. Calling hours will precede the service at 10 am.
