Marilyn M Giebenrath

Marilyn (Maxwell) Giebenrath, 88, of Northampton Twp., passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015. She was surrounded by her family.

Marilyn was born in Sayre, Pennsylvania to the late Rhea and Hazel Maxwell. After graduating from Buchtel High School in 1944, Marilyn enrolled at Ohio University. She was a 1948 graduate of Ohio University. Marilyn was a long standing and active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Akron. At Holy Trinity Lutheran Church she was a member of the Altar Guild, Trinity Time Tithers, and the Bereavement Meal Committee. Marilyn was also active in the Akron Association of Ohio University Women and the Women's Committee of the University of Akron. In addition to her church and university related activities, Marilyn enjoyed playing bridge with friends. Always a warm and gracious lady, she also took great pleasure in spending time with family.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert, and her daughter, Kathy Jurca (Bob). She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews; Pam Droder (Jack), Lynn Konarski (Mitch), Nancy Callahan (Tim), Tom Slocum and Dick Slocum (Kathy). Great nieces and nephews were also a close part of Marilyn's life including April Connelly, Amber Bechter, Andrew Slocum (Samantha), Tim Slocum, Kathleen Slocum, John Slocum, and Julia Slocum. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Ray McDaniel.

The family would like to thank Dr. J. Joseph Peyton for his exceptional care through the years.

Friends will be received FRIDAY, March 20, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on MONDAY, March 23, 2015 with Pastor David Nevergall officiating. The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Garden Fund, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron, Ohio 44304. (Billow FALLS Chapel)
