Marilyn S Osborne

Marilyn S. (Jones) Osborne, born in Akron on Feb. 9, 1926, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was raised by her grandmother in Bens Run, West Virginia when her father was widowed shortly after her birth. Marilyn returned to the Akron area in her teens to graduate from Tallmadge High School, class of '43. Two years later she met a dashing young sailor who was home on leave named Thomas; in 1946, they began a 68 year marriage that only faltered upon his death on Dec. 2, 2014.
Tom and Marilyn are survived by four children, Mike (Paula), Sue Ralph, Joel (Phyllis) and Ted (Alina); 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Bennett and a brother Tom Jones.
Per her request, cremation has taken place, friends will be received at the Valley Community Church, 5700 Taylor Rd. Clinton, Ohio 44230 on Friday, April 17th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a short Memorial Service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to either Hospice of Visiting Nurse, c/o Akron General Foundation, 1 Akron General Ave., Akron, Ohio 44307-2463, or Valley Community Church, P.O. Box 1213, Norton, OH 44203
