Marjorie Decia Ewer Addicott, 82, passed away on January 10th after a yearlong courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 1, 1928 in Northampton, England, Marjorie was a resident of N. Canton, Ohio for 39 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Arthur Ewer; daughter, Louise Addicott; granddaughter, Georgina Joshi; siblings, Maurice, Charlie, Freda, Florence and Lillian; she is survived by her husband of 57 years, Raymond; son, Simon Addicott Linda of Mishawaka, Ind.; daughters, Vivienne Moffat of N. Canton, Virginia Bill Albanese of Akron, Ohio; son-in-law, Yatish Joshi of S. Bend, Ind. Marjorie also leaves her grandchildren, Tenzing and Avatar Joshi, Sarah and Haydon Moffat, Peter and Alexandra Albanese. She is survived by her elder sisters, Elizabeth Betty Bracken of Northampton, England, Thelma Hoggart of Perth, Australia and Grace of London, England; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Throughout her life Marjorie was a homemaker and very active community volunteer. In England Marjorie volunteered at St Andrew's Hospital and at a school for disabled children. Marjorie spent countless hours helping at the Salvation Army of Canton and volunteering at her children's schools. Marjorie was also involved with the Power Squadron of Canton, Ohio. In her younger years Marjorie was a very active woman who enjoyed the outdoors, playing tennis, walking with friends and swimming.
Our family would like to thank Hospice of Visiting Nurse and the Staff at The Village of St. Edward for their compassionate care throughout Marjorie's illness.
Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 13th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 14th in the Chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market St., Akron.
