Marjorie Anne Baldwin (nee Ross) of Fairlawn, Ohio, died at age 87 on Aug. 8, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel Ross, and her husband, Benjamin Baldwin. She is survived by her sister, Alice Guye, of Missouri, and her niece, Annette Guye-Kordus (Robert), and nephew, Douglas Guye (Margaret); and by numerous great nieces and nephews, Betsy Guye-Fritz (Jon), Candy Rhodes and Jeffrey Willis, Ellen Reilly, Jennifer Gieselhart (Michael), Helena Guye, Chloe Guye and Ryan Guye, Robert Kordus III and Rachel Kordus.
Marge was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on July 28, 1931. She graduated from Elkins High School, West Virginia. She attended Denver College for Women before transferring to Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where she earned her bachelor's degree. She went on to earn her master's degree.
Marge and Ben married in 1957 and became lifelong residents of the Cleveland and Akron area. Marge was a teacher of math and physics in area high schools. She was a devoted supporter of classical music and the Cleveland Orchestra. She was an avid traveler, visiting over 25 countries around the globe. A lifelong bridge player and member of the American Contract Bridge League, Marge achieved the rank of Diamond Life Master.
Marge will be remembered fondly by her family and many friends as a generous, loving woman. Her lively spirit was an inspiration to live well, laugh often and love much.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, with calling hours beginning at 2 p.m. at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. David Loar officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra Foundation or the Summit County Humane Society. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
