Marjorie Katherine Cooper

Marjorie Katherine Cooper, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
Born November 22, 1919 in Duluth, MN., she was the daughter of Maurice and Genevieve Cooper.
Marjorie graduated in 1949 from Western Michigan University, she went on to graduate and earn her Master's degree in social work from Indiana University in 1951. She held a long career in public welfare and family and children's services in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio; she retired in 1986 from the Summit County Department of Children's Services.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Church and a past member of the Akron Women's City Club. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, painting, hiking, reading, genealogy, and had a special love for dogs.
Survivors include her nieces: Diane (Don) Gilliard, Karen Martin (Johari Dahran), Terri (Chuck) Daniels, Lynn Martin (Hal Taylor), Kim McMahan, Jill (Mark) Martin-Golden, David (Leslie) Cooper, Ann (Richard) Cooper-Boyle, Michelette (Mario) Gonzalez-Davis, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Margaret Martin, and brother Bromley Cooper.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Sebastian Church, 476 Mull Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320 on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00A.M. Inurnment will take place at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo, MI. at a later date.
Memorials may be made to any animal welfare agency of one's choice.
