Marjorie Bierce Hartz

Marjorie Bierce Hartz, 96, died March 5, 2011.

Born in Tallmadge, she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, the Akron Garden Club, Junior League of Akron, and the Women's Boards of both Akron City Hospital and Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Marjorie was instrumental in the founding of Ohio Mart.

Preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hartz, she is survived by her son, John B. Hartz of Tacoma, Washington, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. MONDAY at the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Dr., with the Rev. Dr. John M. Schluep officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stan Hywet Hall or First Congregational Church in Tallmadge.
