Marjorie J. Janke

July 20, 1939 — April 4, 2021

Marjorie J. Janke (Rilling), age 81, passed away April 4, 2021. Born on July 20, 1939, the daughter of Joseph and Gladys Rilling, Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1957. Marg, as she liked to be called, met Karl Janke while dancing polkas. They later married on October 21, 1966 and had one daughter, Darlene, their “Snot-nosed kid,” later just shortened to “Kid.” Marg worked at GSR Sloan manufacturing company but loved to spend free time at her travel trailer, camping at Tappen Lake Park in southern Ohio where she camped next to her brother Joe and his family. Marg and Karl liked bowling and they loved dogs, especially bulldogs. Marg also loved traveling and driving her classic Pontiac Bonneville, most recently to a drive-in movie where she sat in the front row. She loved all kinds of adventures, including riding steam engine trains, going to casinos with her AARP group, and even mystery excursions with Darlene, who would tell her to get in the car with destination unknown. She loved laughing and never missed an opportunity to have fun. Marg loved her family and cherished her friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gladys Rilling, and loving husband, Karl. She is survived by daughter Darlene (Don) Patterson; brother Joe (Debbie) Rilling; niece, Ashley (Nate) Behra; nephew, Joe Rilling; close family members, Debbie Patterson, Mark Hawley and Denise Riley; and many other family members and friends. Marg will be especially missed by her beloved bulldog, Diamond and her grand-dog Sammy.

At Marjorie’s request, a short graveside service will be held prior to burial at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, 4724 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00pm. Guests are invited to attend a luncheon immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marg’s name may be made to Second Chance for Animals, P.O.
