Mark H Koltnow

May 15, 1947 — August 13, 2010

Mark H. Koltnow, DPM died on August 13, 2010 in Akron of a short illness, surrounded by his family.

Mark was born on May 15, 1947 in Akron and was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Koltnow. He is survived by his children, Adam Carrie of Delaware, Ohio and Sara Nathan Barnhart of Columbus, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Barnhart of Columbus; his wife, Shelley; his stepchildren, Heather Taylor Royston, Michael Ellsa Kunz and Dan Reanna Kunz, and their children; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Andrew Kusmin; nephew, Ethan Jeremy Kusmin and niece, Jessica Terry Sloan, and their children. He is also survived by many other family members and long time friends which are too numerous to list as well as his long standing loyal employees.

His family also wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to his physicians, hospice and the care he received at Bath Manor.

Mark loved animals and provided a home to numerous rescued animals over the years. Another true joy in his life was watching trains with fellow train enthusiasts across Ohio. Mark avidly supported the Cleveland Indians in good years and bad, always hoping for a World Series Title. He also loyally rooted for the Ohio State Buckeye football team. ``Script Ohio' stayed a perennial favorite of Mark's over his lifetime. Perhaps the greatest of all Mark's interests outside of his family were the interests of his patients. Mark practiced podiatry in Akron for over 36 years and cared deeply for his patients and placed their care and well-being first. This above all else is his legacy.

Friends may call 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Paws and Prayers or the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
