Martha Ferch, 66, of Fairlawn, passed away too soon on January 16, 2015.
She was born in Budapest, Hungary on July 31, 1948 to Ede and Mary Forras. She was a longtime employee at Bath Township, retiring in 2013. Martha and her family fled from Hungary in the fall of 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution. The family arrived in Cleveland on October 7, 1957. Martha loved representing her heritage through cooking. She loved gardening and knew the name of every flower, plant, and shrub. She was involved in the Heritage Corridors of Bath and loved the beauty of Bath Township.
Martha was a loving grandmother to Jaxson Ferch and Owen Ballog, and mother to David (Cindy) Ferch of Jacksonville, Florida and Cindy (Drew) Ballog of Bay Village and sister to Mary (Andy) Olah of Bakersfield, California. She was a friend to many.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. SATURDAY in the Historic Chapel at The Bath Church, U.C.C., 3980 W. Bath Rd., with Rev. Adam Marquette officiating. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd, FRIDAY from 4-7 p.m. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
