Martha Taylor nee Martha Rebecca Miller, 96, passed away on January 26, 2009 at the Manor Care Nursing Home of natural causes.

She had previously resided at Cardinal Retirement Village for twelve years. Born in Brownwood, North Carolina, on February 9, 1912, she attended Appalachian State and taught grade school. She married Felix Odell Taylor and moved to Copley. Her husband worked for B.F. Goodrich in Akron. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and is remembered for her loving spirit and delicious meals.

Preceded in death by her son, Thomas; husband, Felix; siblings, Walter, Sanford, Clyde, Mabel and Edna; she is survived by her nephew, Sanford W. Miller, Jr. of Akron; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Painter of Media, Pa.; granddaughter, Sara Taylor Painter of Glen Mills, Pa.; as well as nieces and nephews.

Martha's family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Manor Care for their compassionate care these last few years.

Private services will be held with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, Mass. 01061-0515.
