Mary Ann Barry-Seiberling

Mary Ann Barry Seiberling of Columbus Ohio, formerly of Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 6, 2012.

Born on November 24, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas, she was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Kapper Barry; father, John Barry; her brother, Mark Barry; and her sister, Claire Simpson. She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Stonebrook (Michael) of Columbus, Ohio, Kathy Long (Rich) of Colorado; her brothers, John (Rosemary) of Arizona, Thomas of Louisiana, James and Matthew (Chris) of Akron, and Daniel of Texas; her sisters, Jeannine Marks (Steve) of Akron, and Maureen Rocha (Rodrigo) of California; grandchildren, Aivary, Noelle, Calleigh, Jack, Riley, Cooper, Gryffin; and many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of The University of Akron, Mary Ann was passionate about her students and her work as a teacher in family and consumer sciences at Goodrich Middle School. She will be remembered for her love of food, good humor, family, and friends. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and brought her much joy especially in the last year of her life.

A special heartfelt thank you to the Kobacker House for the wonderful care and support Mary Ann and her family received the last week of her life.

A celebration and remembrance of her life will be held on Saturday, February 25th, at St. Bernard's Church, 240 S. Broadway St., Akron, Ohio 44308. Friends may call at St. Bernard's Church from 12:30-2 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Father Norm Douglas officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
