Mary Yvonne Craddock passed away on November 23rd, 2012 in Akron, Ohio after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Mary was born in Akron, Ohio on September 9, 1931 and was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Emma (Luger) Hoover and beloved younger sister, Estelle Pagano.
Mary was married to Carl R. Dickinson (deceased) for many years and then to Bill Craddock whom she wed shortly before he lost his fight with cancer.
She is survived by her loving sister, Dorothy Hoover, who was instrumental in her care for many years; daughter, Dana Dickinson; son, Christian (Laurie) Dickinson; brother-in-law, Phil Pagano; and grandchildren, David Uecke, Mary Elizabeth Pulk, Elaine Pulk, Sarah Dickinson and Patrick Dickinson.
Mary lived her entire life in Summit County. For a time Mary worked as a model and appeared on the early Paige Palmer television show in Cleveland. She was employed with the Akron Clinic for many years and after retirement was an usher for the Akron Aeros. Mary volunteered her time at several community organizations.
God played a role in Mary's life and she attended various churches over her lifetime including Lockwood United Methodist Church, The Chapel on Fir Hill and First United Methodist Church in Akron.
Mary was a kind and gentle soul that was loved by all that knew her.
The immediate family wishes to thank her other family at Sunrise Senior Living in Cuyahoga Falls for providing her such loving care for many years and to the caring people at Harbor Light Hospice that provided such great support.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held for Mary on Saturday, December 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market Street, Akron, Ohio. Interment will take place at St. Paul's memorial garden immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at
