Mary L. D'Avello, 91, went home to be with the Lord October 6, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Akron, she lived here all of her life. Mary was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Philoptochos Society, Orthodox Christian Women, and Fairlawn Women's Club.
Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nick, Tom, and George; survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Faust; sons, Denis and Bob (Diana) D'Avello; daughter, Michele D'Avello; grandchildren, Danny, Joey, Jonny and Timmy; brother, Bill (Diana) Van Doros; and many loving relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff of 5 North at Akron City, VNS Staff and the Home Staff for VNS for their compassion and loving care.
Service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron 44304 with Rev. Fr. Jerry Hall officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron where a 6 p.m. Trisagion service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Philoptochos Society.
