Mary "Bo" Hochschwender (Koger), beloved mother, grandmother and wife to the late Herman K. Hochschwender, passed away with dignity and grace on December 23rd, at Akron General Medical Center. She was 86.
Born in Ft. Wayne, Ind., on May 25, 1926, she maintained two residences - one in Akron, Ohio, the other in Naples, Fla. Bo enjoyed sailing, tennis and golf, and was active in the community in Akron, having served on the board at Akron General Medical Center, the Akron Art Museum and the United Community Council. In Akron, Bo was also a member at Portage Country Club. While in Naples, she was a member of the Royal Poinciana Golf Club and Naples Yacht Club. She attended the University of Akron, and was employed as an executive assistant at the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. where she met her future husband, Herman.
In addition to Mr. Hochschwender, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lois Koger. She is survived by two sisters, Chris Kiser of Akron, Ohio and Jean O'Brien of Tampa, Florida. Bo will be missed by her children, Michael Hochschwender, Patricia Mosley, Lynn Hochschwender McGowin, Irene Hochschwender Harris, H.K. Hochschwender, Jr., James Hochschwender; and six grandchildren.
Bo said she would like to be remembered "lovingly by my children and kindly by the world."
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 27th, at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 28, at 11 a.m. Private entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
