Mary Kathleen 'Kathy' Lynch

Mary Kathleen Lynch, 49, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2018, with family by her side. She was born October 31, 1968, in Akron, Ohio. Predeceased by her father, Conley J. Lynch, she is survived by her mother, Mary E. Lynch; sister, Susan E. Reiter (Jake); brother, Michael J. Lynch (Lisa); niece, Marcella Reiter; nephews, Conley Reiter, Finnegan Lynch and Brogann Lynch; and companion of many years, Dan Herbst.
Kathy graduated from Green High School in 1987. She attended The University of Akron where she received her Bachelor and Masters degrees. She was employed for many years as an exercise physiologist at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio.
Kathy loved life and was known by her family and many dear friends for her generosity, kindness and constant laughter. She was also known for episodes of spontaneous giggling. Kathy loved animals. The adventures of her cats, Cleo and Naomi, were regulars on social media. Her "Caturday" posts will be sadly missed. Kathy loved riding her bicycle and was well-known for her daily commutes to work from the west to east side of Cleveland, almost no matter the weather.
Kathy leaves behind a vast and empty space where her joy and love of life, family and friends used to be. Now it is our job to refill that space with laughter and kindness to each other, and memories of happy times.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place, and Kathy will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery next to her beloved father. A celebration of Kathy's life with be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lucky Paws Animal Rescue or University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.
