Mary Wetsel Meyer, 69, passed away December 9, 2017.
Born in Akron, Ohio April 23, 1948 to Richard C. Wetsel and Mary K. Wetsel, she was a graduate of Old Trail School in Fairlawn, Ohio and attended William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA.
50 years ago, the day after Thanksgiving, while working at Halle's, she met her friend, Annie and by Christmas she had been introduced to her future husband, Alfred Meyer. They moved to the DC area shortly after where her love of culture took off. She loved to go to all the museums DC had to offer, the opera house, the zoo, and of course became a huge fan of the Washington Capitals. Her love of the world led her to travel for hockey games and Alaska cruises. She shared this love with her friends like Margret and Betty whenever she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Mary Katharine Leach. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Meyer; her son-in-law, Bryan Leach; and her granddaughter, Mary Catherine Victoria Leach.
A private graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park, as a quiet memorial to her life. To share a Memory, Send a Condolence, or Light a Candle, visit the Tribute Wall at
