Mary Petrackis, 85, passed away March 27, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was active both with community and church organizations, including Akron Symphony, Children's Hospital, Tarry House, Philoptohos, Daughters of Penelope, Amhas and many more. She was a devoted friend to many and her family meant the world to her.
Preceded in death by husband, Chris Petrackis; and sister, Katherine Constantine. Mary leaves daughter, Connie Ted Sarros; grandchildren, Philip Stacey Sarros, Sherri Trevor Matheson; great grandchildren, Athena, Sophia, and Olivia; and great nephew, Andrew Maria Poulos; and their daughter, Despina; nieces, Anna Marie Fred Frederick, Sandy Bill Pihos, Dianne Steve Gounardes, Arita Charlie Hillen, and Natasha Jim Casey.
Services will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron with Rev. Fr. Jerry F. Hall officiating; memorial luncheon immediately following. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park following the luncheon. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron with a 6 p.m. Trisagios service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Anthony Retikas Scholarship Fund, c/o Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
