Mary Jane Schott, age 82 of Bath passed away peacefully Friday, November 29, 2013, the family is thankful that she is reunited with her beloved husband of 56 years, Dr. Edward Schott who passed away on February 14, 2008.
Mary was born in Akron, the daughter of Paul and Susan (Roman) Pollack. She was a member of the Bath Church, UCC, and a former member of Fairlawn West where she was active in various roles; she was also active in Summit County Women's Medical Auxiliary, Witan, Mobile Meals, and a past president of Fairlawn School PTA. She loved cooking and playing tennis, and enjoyed spending time with her husband in the Florida Keys and traveling to various countries during their retirement years.
Survivors include her children: Robert C. (Lyn) of Akron, Stephen E. (Lauren) of Akron, Susan L. (Dan) White of Nashville, TN, and Eric C. (Nancy) of Akron; grandchildren: Marybeth (Solomon) Gardner, Jessica (Patrick) Brien, Allyson Schott, Rafer and Natalia White, and Christopher and Matthew Schott; great grandchildren Evan and Hunter Gardner.
He was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother John.
Friends will be received at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. on Wednesday from 4:00-6:30PM. Services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 12 noon at the Bath Church, UCC, 3980 Bath Rd. with Rev. Mark Frey officiating. Burial will take place at the East Liberty Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Loretta Kendrick and Mary Mason for their wonderful and attentive care of their mother during her later years.
