Mary "Babe" Skibo nee Wysocki went to be with the Lord early Sunday, January 10, 2010 while surrounded by loved ones at the age of 83.
Mary, and as friends and family knew her "Babe," was born in Blawnox, Pennsylvania, May 2, 1926.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Leo Wysocki; husband, Elmer Scotty Skibo; and son-in-law, Don Adamson. She is survived by her three loving daughters, Christine Joe Valarik of Fairlawn, Ohio, Kathleen Charles Neeler of Charlotte, N.C., and Barbara Adamson of Wadsworth, Ohio. She is also survived by six adoring grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In her youth, Babe often went fishing with her siblings. Later in life she enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, golf, and was an avid bowler with her husband, Scotty. Babe was a member of St. Hilary Parish in Fairlawn, Ohio, and she was also a resident of Copley Health Center where she recently enjoyed being crowned Queen for the Day in a recent Valentine's Day celebration. Babe will be most remembered for her strong faith, compassion for family and friends, and independent spirit.
