Mary Zervos

Mary Zervos , age 88, passed away on June 9th, 2024. She was born in Akron and was the daughter of Dr. Andonios and Panagiota Zervos. Mary graduated from Buchtel High School and received a secretarial certificate from the University of Akron. Mary worked at the Arthritis and Tuberculosis Center and at Akron General Medical Center as a secretary. In her later years, she worked for her brother-in-law, Dr. Demetrios Retikas.

After retirement, Mary volunteered at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Center and at St. Thomas Medical Center. She also helped at the gyro lunches at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Andonios and Panagiota Zervos; her sister, Phaidra Retikas; brother-in-law, Demetrios Retikas; and her nephew, Dr. Tony Retikas. She leaves her beloved niece, Diti Ciraldo (nee Retikas) and her husband, Mark Ciraldo and her great nephew and great nieces, Anthony Ciraldo, Lenora Tiliakos, and Christina Mollica.

Visitation will be at 10 A.M. MONDAY June 17th at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St. Akron, OH 44304, followed by the funeral service at 11 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of her nephew to the Anthony Retikas, M.D. Memorial Scholarship Fund and mailed to the church at 129 S. Union St. Akron, OH 44304.
