Marylu Jenkins

December 15, 1923 — February 2, 2014

Marylu Jenkins went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 2 surrounded by her family and friends.
Born on December 15, 1923 to Florence and O.B. Philips in Akron, Ohio, she spent much of her childhood at the "big house" in Medina and her adult years at her family farm in Granger Township, the place she dearly loved.
Marylu Jenkins lived a wonderful life. Faith was her defining characteristic, and she lived that faith daily. She was a loving, compassionate, generous and forgiving woman who was a role model for her family and all who knew her. Always willing to get involved in the fun, she was a swim instructor who taught hundreds of children and "scared to death" adults to swim, a volleyball player into her early 80s and the first one to grab a bat to play softball with her grandkids and great-grandkids on a Sunday at the farm. To say she enjoyed and appreciated every day of her life is an understatement. She lived life to the fullest and gave her time and love unconditionally.
Preceded in death by her husband, Faye, her legacy of love will be carried on by her daughter, Nancy (Jim) Hewes and sons, Mark (Marty) and Phil (Barb) Jenkins; grandchildren, Lauren Davis (Brad), Spencer Hewes, Patty Dannemann (Ryan), Jenny Jenkins (Eric), Katie Howard (Nate), Kim Frazee (Mike) and Annie Crawford (Andy) along with 6 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. In addition she is survived by dear, dear friends Karen and Rozeanne and special niece, Beth Whitmore and a host of other relatives. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her loving and faithful companion, Jag, her beloved Golden Retriever who will be adopted and cared for by her granddaughter, Katie.
God Bless. We love you MTTCT.
Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, Ohio on Saturday, February 15 at 2:00 with visitation with the family beginning at 1:00.
