Max Esler, 89, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023. He was born in Akron (Sawyerwood), Ohio on August 1, 1934.
Max served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1952-1960 and proudly considered himself a marine until death. As a Marine, Max had special duty in Washington DC . He guarded President Eisenhower on trips to Camp David, went to the White House affairs and babysat with Eisenhower’s grandchildren. Burials at Arlington Cemetery where a common occurrence at which time he was part of the honors shown to the deceased.
Max was a million dollar producer for Prudential Insurance. He worked at Ohio Edison before taking a job with the Village of Hudson where he retired as superintendent of Hudson’s municipal Electric Company.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Robert Ross, his parents and eleven siblings. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anne Esler; daughter, Elizabeth (John), stepchildren, Richard, Ronald(Diana) and William Ross, Victoria Romo(Ross) and sister-in-law, Vivian Esler. Also, leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, aides and staff at Danbury Tallmadge and Southern Care Hospice for their kind and loving care. A special thank you to niece Mary for her love and support during the illness of Max.
Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, October 26 at 1PM at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23 Rd. St., Cuyahoga Falls, 44223, The family will receive friends from 11:30AM-1PM. Burial will follow at Markillie Cemetery.
