Melissa A Wilcox

Melissa Ann (Burton) Wilcox, 36, of Streetsboro, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013.

The daughter of Larry and Debbie (Smith) Burton, she was born and raised in Ravenna, Ohio. Melissa graduated from Ravenna High School, then went on to attend Mount Union College, Kent State University and finally Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. All this to become a funeral director, and to help families through their time of grief, what she loved to do. After a few jobs, Melissa found her true home away from home at the Billow Funeral Home where she has worked happily for 8 years.

Besides her husband, Michael, and her parents, Melissa leaves her beloved son and daughter, Jake and Ella; along with her brother and sister-in-law, Kyle and Danielle Burton; niece and nephew, Mikhaila and Porter Burton; as well as her grandmother, many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Melissa was an incredibly selfless person who loved nothing more than to see joy in others. This was always apparent each year at Christmas time. She never wanted any gifts, her gift was to see you receive yours.

Anybody that knew Melissa was touched in some way by her, and will never forget her. We love you and can't wait to meet again in Heaven.

Services to celebrate Melissa's life will take place 11 am. MONDAY at Community Bible Church, 3671 Tallmadge Rd., Rootstown, Ohio 44272, with Pastors Ron Lanum and Jason Moore officiating. Interment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Friends may call at the church SUNDAY from 2-5 p.m. and one hour prior to the service MONDAY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jake and Ella Fund at any Huntington Bank. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
