Melissa "Molly" Jetter

June 30, 1952 — February 19, 2021

Melissa “Molly” Jetter, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021, after a five-year bout with lung cancer.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 30, 1952, she lived in the Akron area since 1958. She was a 1970 graduate of Firestone High School and a 1971 graduate of Hammel Actual Business College. She worked in the lab at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and later in the color lab at Rubbermaid. In 2004, she became administrative assistant to the director of the Shaw Jewish Community Center where she served until 2012 when she became administrator at Temple Israel retiring in 2017.

Molly was an avid Cleveland sports fan. She loved the Cavs, Indians, and the Browns… no matter how dismal their seasons, she remained a supporter. She loved animals of all kinds but especially her treasured dogs and cats, Samantha, Bertha, Gladys, Alice, and Murray.

Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Marilyn Jetter, Molly is survived by her sister, Libby (Jeff) Wilson; brother, Ed (Kim) Jetter; nieces, Christine (Nick) Aquista, Katie (Marc) McKee, and grand-nephew, Stevie Siket. The family wishes to thank Summa Hospice and The Village of St. Edward for their excellent care of Molly.

Cremation has taken place. Per Molly’s request, there will be no memorial service.
