A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he retired from the Lakewood Police Department.
Preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Jean and son, Bill; he is survived by son, Tom Laura Munroe; daughter, Michelle Jeff Suglio; and grandchildren, Matt Munroe and Sam and Stephen Suglio.
Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron, Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service immediately following. Private inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to V.N.S. Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron 44333.
