Michael Francis Frank
Michael Francis Frank, 79, of Jackson Township passed away November 23, 2015 after a 15 yr. debilitating struggle with heart disease.
Born in Akron, Ohio December 2, 1935 to Earle Poorman and Mary Ruth Frank nee Marken, he was a graduate of Buchtel High School and The University of Akron. He received his Master's Degree in Education from Kent State University. He was active in the Army Reserves for 8 years during his college years as well as being Campus Mailman to help earn his college tuition.
He worked in Sales for 31 years, but found his true passion teaching adults and serving as a Director of Adult Education. In 1975 he realized his dream of working with and teaching adults, by assuming the role of Adult Director at The Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School. This enabled him to promote adults into employment that would help them to start a new life. He left Muskingum to become the Director of Adult Education for The Columbiana County Joint Vocational School, where he ran 5 full-time adult programs and many short-term courses as well as Paramedic Training and Fire Training twice yearly.
He retired from Sherwin Williams, as Manager of the Automotive Auto body Computer Department.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia "Liz" Frank nee Strouse; children, Mary Catherine Privette (Robert) of Michigan and Michael R. Frank (Vicky) of Washington State; grandchildren, Sarah and Franklin; siblings, Mary "Molly" Virginia Bittner, John and James Frank.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday, December 28th, 11am at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 226 Third St. SW, Massillon 44646, with Rev. Dr. Erwin Smuda officiating. Cremation has taken place, there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel)
