Michelle Therese Semonin-Lenahan passed away Tuesday evening, January 5, 2021 of Covid-19.
She was born on May 7, 1951 to Emmet V. and Margaret M. Semonin who have preceded her in death. Michelle attended Firestone High School and graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Speech Therapy. She was an accomplished artist, crafter, and a great cook. Her mental illness did not stop her from making friends and being very productive. The devotion she had to Roman Catholicism was deep and she attended mass as often as she could.
I only have positive memories of my sister whose life was made difficult by her mental condition. She never gave up and always tried her best. I respected her but wondered about some of her decisions. She is now if God’s loving arms and with her parents who she dearly missed.
Michelle leaves behind her two children, James Lenahan and Sheila Kowalski, plus two grandchildren. Also, grieving for her, is her sister, Shelia Semonin-Oakes; two nieces, Shannon Greene (Alfred), Elizabeth Guise (Ryan); nephew, Shawn Oakes; and Tracy Rayburn-Oakes, a niece through marriage; and her best and endearing friends, Cynthia Powry, who never forgot her.
A thank you to the aides, Rhonda, Rehabilitation Department, Brooke, and Dan, at Bath Manor.
