Mildred L. Durbin
Mildred L. Durbin, a long time resident of Turkeyfoot Island in the Portage Lakes area, died Nov. 11, 2008 at St. Luke's Lutheran Community, Portage Lakes, after an extended illness.

She was born August 1928 in New Albany, Ind. and moved to Akron in 1941 with her husband, William F. Durbin, an engineer at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Millie was a member of First Congregational Church in Akron, the Turkeyfoot Island Club and the Portage Lakes Yacht Club. She was the daughter of William M. and Julie M. Horsey of New Albany, Ind. and was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill. Special thanks to the staff of St. Luke's Lutheran Community, Portage Lakes; her doctor, Kenneth D. Braman; and Shirley Ulm of Client Care Management for excellent care during her illness.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. SUNDAY, November 16th, at the Billow LAKES Chapel, 472 W. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., with Rev. Duane Angel officiating. There are no calling hours. Billow LAKES Chapel
