Mildred Ruth Ewart

June 3, 1920 — July 29, 2014

Mildred Ruth Ewart, 94, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2014.

She was a long time resident of Akron, Ohio. A veteran of the US Navy, she worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and in the banking business. She was a past president of WITAN and a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mildred always had a passion for literature, art, and music of many forms which she enjoyed and shared with her friends and family. She was always aware of others around her and took interest in them and showed them a great deal of care.

Preceded in death by her husband, Burt and sister, Hazel Fouse; Mildred is survived by her son, Bill (Melinda); grandson, Michael (fiancé Jillian Furry); and sisters, Wilma Cheslock and Mary Swartzlander. She cherished many loved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice Care Center for their kind and loving care.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Chaplain Marilyn Mihalic officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour before services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Hospice Care Center, 1 Akron General Ave., Akron 44307.
