Mimmo Domenico Gagliardi, 88, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 of congestive heart failure.
He was born November 29, 1926 in Squillace, Calabria, Italy to Anna (Mungo) and Saverio Gagliardi. His father was already in the US when the Depression and WWII prevented him from sending for his wife and son. Mimmo and his mother were finally able to come to the United States in 1947. Although he was proud of his Italian heritage, it was achieving the American dream that he loved to talk about. When Mimmo first came to America, he went to school and learned English at night while working as an apprentice at VB Dental Laboratory. He proudly became a citizen of the United States. In 1951, he married Angela Tricaso. They had two children: Saverio (deceased) and Annette. Mimmo eventually bought the dental lab and changed its name to General Dental Laboratory when he moved the business to Copley Rd. Mimmo and Angela ran the Dental Laboratory until he retired at the age of 62. He traveled the world with Angie and loved to talk of his adventures especially the many cruises and land tours they took together over every ocean and continent. But most important was Mimmo's love for his family. He had a special bond with his grandson, Ryan.
In addition to his parents, Mimmo was preceded in death by his wife, Angela and son, Saverio. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Annette and Thomas Bader; grandchildren, Ryan Bader of Denver, CO, Alexandra Bader and Joshua Bader of Akron; sisters-in-law, Mary DiFrangia, Isabel (Joseph) Cacioppo, Adeline (Johnny) Lomelo, and Anita Tricaso; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, especially the Sinopoli Family. The family would like especially like thank Dr. Joseph Armeo and Mattie Rigby for their compassionate care.
