Mouna Silfani

Mouna Silfani (née Maroun) was born in Aitanit, Lebanon on January 30, 1936, emigrated to the United States in 1969, and passed away after an extended illness on May 30, 2013.
Settling in Akron, Ohio she raised her family, owned a local business, and made her mark on this world. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Cedars, lending her beautiful voice to the choir. Known for her culinary skills, she cooked many Lebanese meals for her family and friends. Her presence brought joy, laughter and love everywhere she went. You fought the hard fight Mom. We love you and will miss you dearly.
Mom is survived by her children, Dr. Tonous (Tammy) Silfani, Danny (Amanda) Silfani Esq., Rosy Silfani; grandchildren, Elayna Marie, Madeline Rose, Grace Catherine, Anthony Nabih, Madeline Kay and Maria Rose; brothers, Fariz Maroun, Nemaan (Nouhad) Maroun, Albert (Jeanne) Maroun and Nabil (Diane) Maroun; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to Michelle Ferguson for her devotion to Mom these last several years, the nurses of AGMC Cancer Center and Visiting Nurse Services. She was truly blessed with great care.
The funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4th at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church, 507 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., with Msgr. William Bonczewski officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, June 3rd at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N.
