Nancy Kay Bell (nee Scharenberg), a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on April 8, 2025. She was born in Akron, OH on May 21, 1943, to parents Elmer Scharenberg and Georgia Scharenberg (nee Shirk).
Nancy grew up on a farm in Bath with her sister, Sally. She graduated from Revere High School in 1961 and was voted “best dressed” her senior year. She then attended modeling school in Chicago, and shortly thereafter started a family.
Beyond her role as a mother, Nancy worked with special needs children, demonstrating a compassion for helping others. She also worked on a house cleaning team with her friends Kathy and Kay and participated in a bowling league at Riviera lanes with her high school friends. Nancy liked spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed decorating and going to sales to find those great deals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Georgia Scharenberg; sister, Sally Innocenti; and grandson, Preston Bell.
She is survived by her former husband, Donald Bell; daughter, Donna (David) Maher of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Jeffrey (Jessica) Bell of Plymouth, MI; son, Michael Bell of West Bloomfield, MI; grandchildren, Angela Vizmeg (nee Gidley) of Stow, Emily and Mackenzie Maher of Cuyahoga Falls, and Montgomery Bell of Plymouth, MI; and great grandchildren Vieva and Dane Wolak.
Friends may call 5-7 P.M. FRIDAY April 11 at the Billow FALLS Memorial Chapel, 1907 23rd Street, with funeral service at 7 P.M. The family will hold a private graveside service at Moore's Chapel Cemetery in Bath, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution’s in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America (https://www.dementiasociety.org/) or to the Graves’ Disease and Thyroid Foundation (https://gdatf.org/).
