Nancy Lou Norris (Toomey)

Nancy Lou Norris (Toomey) passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the youth of her 80th year of life. Born in Cuyahoga Falls on July 21, 1938, Nancy would later graduate from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1956. After graduation she went to work as a receptionist at the office of Dr. Frasier. Shortly thereafter Nancy would meet her lifelong soulmate, Robert Edward Norris while attending a dance with friends at the University Club of Akron and be joined in matrimony on September 8, 1962.

Nancy was a loving mother and grandmother with a fondness for gardening and she also adored her canine children, Yanah, Mandy and Emma. Nancy was a former member of Witan and enjoyed many social events as a member of the University Club of Akron.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou Toomey-Savel (Austin) and Thomas Houston Toomey; her husband of 37 years, Robert Edward Norris; and her sister, Bettye J. Schumacher; Nancy is survived by her children, Lisa Ann Norris-Handal (David K. Handal), Scott Edward Norris and Steven Andrew Norris (Carla Parker). Nancy also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; brother, Stephen Thomas (Sharon) Toomey; brother-in-law, R.C. Norris; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with the Rev. Dr. Sandra Selby officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
