Natalie Miahky , of Akron, Ohio, passed away at the age of 83 on June 4, 2023. She is survived by her two loving sons, Paul and Stephen, her daughter-in-law, Christina (McGann), and her two granddaughters, Clara and Madeline. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zenon, her older sister, Irene (Rabij) and her parents, Bohdan and Anna Topolnitzky (Miller).
Born in New York City, Natalie Miahky was raised in Utica, NY where she was deeply immersed in Ukrainian cultural life. A talented musician, Natalie attended Boston University as a vocal performance major and also earned a minor in both directing and arranging. Following her education, she returned to upstate New York and taught elementary school vocal music for thirteen years. After moving to Ohio in 1987, Natalie was active in both her churches, Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Akron, and St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Parma. Natalie found great fulfillment through her volunteer work, especially with the Tuesday Musical Association where she served on numerous committees for many years and found countless lasting friendships. She was best known for her warmth, her love of music, and her dedication to family and friends.
A Celebration of her Life will take place at the Carriage House at Stan Hywet Hall, 714 N. Portage Path, Akron, OH 44303, WEDNESDAY, June 21, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
