Neil Francis Daniel Healey

Neil Francis Daniel Healey, 76, passed away April 15, 2013.

Born March 2, 1937 in Newton, Mass. to Rose and Jeremiah Healey, he was a U.S. Army veteran. Neil devoted himself to his family and community. He was a proud member and past president of the Bath-Richfield Kiwanis and member of the Jaycees and Amvets Post 176 in Richfield. A golfer and bowler, he had a love of the outdoors and worked many spaghetti dinners and Community Day events. Neil was named Richfield Citizen of the Year in 1973. For many years, he volunteered to fight fires out west with the Forestry Services. He spent his final 25 working years with the National Park Service and was proud of his contribution to the development of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Preceded in death by his father, Jeremiah and sister, Mary, he is survived by Patricia, his wife of 38 years; children, Kimberly Kirkerdall, Craig Healey, Alicia Snyder, Linda Sanders and Edward Snyder; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Rose; and sister, Lynn, both of Portsmouth, R.I.

All are welcome to call at the Masonic Temple, 4600 W. Streetsboro Rd., Richfield, SUNDAY beginning at 4 p.m., where the Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. Donations for a Kiwanis Scholarship in his honor may be made to the Neil Healey Memorial Fund, c/o Westfield Bank, 2635 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44398. Private inurnment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
