Nellie Garnet Snider Greenwell
Nellie Garnet Snider Greenwell, born December 29, 1931 near Laurel Point, W. Va., passed away Monday, March 30, 2009, at Akron City Hospital's Acute Palliative Care Unit.
She grew up in W. Virginia and was a graduate of University High School in Morgantown, W. Va. She had been a long time resident of Cuyahoga Falls and retired after working for many years in area grocery stores including Acme and Fisher Fazio's.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David G. and Gail W. Snider; her husband, Dale Greenwell; brothers, James, Harold and William Snider; sisters, Grace Sochor and Gladys Eddy; and stepdaughter, Norma Knight. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheri Greenwell and Ken Richey; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jill Greenwell; grandchildren, Joseph and Michael Greenwell, Crystal Testa and Ryan Knight; great-grandchildren, Katie and Emily Knight and Courtney Testa; her sister and brother-in-law, Elva and Conrad Kennedy, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her devoted caregiver, Tammy Daugherty.
Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
