Newton E. Eisenhart "Bud" left peacefully to begin his new life on October 7, 2009.
A native of Akron, he graduated from Bucthel High School and The University of Akron. He made history at The University of Akron by being the first Cadet Battle Group Commander ROTC graduate to receive a full commission as an officer into the U.S. Army. He was a member of Scabbard and Blade and honored as a distinguished military graduate.
He enjoyed reading, high school football games, The Cleveland Cavaliers and spending time with and making fantastic memories with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Newton E. Eisenhart, Sr. and Ethel L Eisenhart; brother, John G. Eisenhart; and best friend, Constantine R. Milo, 'Dean,' he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Diller, his daughter, Lesli Nicole and son, Mark Alan. He also leaves to mourn, his siblings, Judy Hughes Duane of Albuquerque, N.M., David Eisenhart Carole of Uniontown, Mary Ellen Roberts Hank of Akron, Betty Eisenhart of Medina, Jean Eisenhart of Snellville, Ga.; brother-in-law, Lt. Cmdr. M. H. Diller, Ret. Pat of San Diego, Calif.; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. R. Landis Coffman, Jr. and Rev. Eileen Woyen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron, Ohio 44304, and The Humane Society of Greater Akron, 4904 Quick Rd., Peninsula, OH 44264-9704.
