Nick Herstic, 84, passed away May 18, 2012.
Born in Turtle Creek, Pa., he lived most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls. Nick retired from Consolidated Freight Ways after 25 + years of service. He served as a Military Police in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed going to classic car shows and was the owner of a '57 Dodge Imperial where he was awarded many trophies.
Preceded in death by his mother and father; aunt, Angie Vracar; he is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Marie; step-daughter, Vicki Collins-Wakefield and her husband Michael Wakefield; many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Altercare of Cuyahoga Falls for their kindness and compassion and the comforting care he received in Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Herstic family or a charity of one's choice.
