Nick S. Stamas, 82, passed away suddenly July 28, 2008.
Born in Detroit, he was a former resident of Dayton and Naples, Florida and most recently resided in Akron. He was the former owner of Sta-Lite Inc. and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Nick was a member of the Greek Orthodox Churches in Dayton, Naples, Florida and Akron, where he also was the President of the Naples Greek Orthodox Church. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel and visit friends along the way.
Nick is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Maxine; proud father of sons, Michael Nancy of Brecksville, Steven Barbara of Texas; daughter, Nikki fiancé John Relic Konstand of Richfield; loving "papou" of grandchildren, Alexa Konstand of Florida, Andrew Konstand of Virginia, Nicholas Stamas of Texas; brother, Pete Stamas of Dayton; sisters, Emily Hounschell of Dayton, Mary Camacho of Dayton; brother-in-law, Lester Vlahos.
Friends may call 5 to 8 pm THURSDAY with a Trisagios service conducted by Rev. Fr. Jerry F. Hall at 7:00 pm at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Akron 44333. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 am at the Greek Orthodox Church in DAYTON. Burial at Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum in Dayton. Additional calling hours will be held 5 to 8 pm Friday at the Marker and Heller Funeral Home in Dayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S.
