Niki Vasilatos, 88, left peacefully on February 2nd at home surrounded by her loving family.
The beloved wife of Spiros for 55 years, who preceded her in death, Niki was born in Paralogous, Greece and resided in Akron for 60 years. She was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and active in the Elpis. She was the best mom, Yia- Yia, cook, and baker. She loved her God, family, and many friends. Her laugh was infectious and made being around her such a joy. She showed her fighting spirit, but balanced it with sweetness and a beautiful smile until the end. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, but is in a better place.
Niki is survived by her sons, Spiros, Jr. (Denise) and Bill (Terri); daughter, Florence Zuder; grandchildren, Nicholas, Adam, Ali, Sami, Mike, Katarina and Alexndra; special sister-in-law, Angeliki Vasilatos; nephews and nieces, cousins, and godchildren.
Services will be held 1 p.m. MONDAY at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Jerry F. Hall and Fr. Myron Zuder officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. SUNDAY from 2 to 5 p.m. where the Trisagion service will take place at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron, Ohio 44304.
