Norma L. Zimmerman

Norma L. Zimmerman, 83, a longtime resident of Northampton, passed away peacefully July 18, 2018.

Born in Alliance, Ohio to the late Harold and Thelma Lowman, she graduated from Mount Union College with a degree in education. While there, she was a member of the Alpha Chi sorority and met her husband Robert D. She later earned her master's degree from Kent State University. Norma retired from teaching after many years with Woodridge Local Schools. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, the Cuyahoga Falls Woman's Club and was an avid bridge and euchre player.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert D.; sisters, Joyce and Donna; she is survived by her sons, David (Brett) and Michael; daughter, Linda Hodges; grandchildren, Ethan, Ashlee, and Bryan; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put family first.

The family would like to thank Norma's dear and devoted friends and relatives for their many visits, calls, cards, and support over the years. They meant the world to her. They would also like to thank Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls Assisted Living for their care and help in her living as independently as possible.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, 44223, with Rev. Stephanie Crossland officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodridge Foundation, American Stroke Association, or Harbor Lights Hospice.
