Our dear father,
Norman George Rogers
, passed away on June 12 ,2024 at home surrounded by his children and grandchildren after suffering a stroke.
Norm was born March 27,1940 in Akron, Ohio to George and Myrtle Mary Rogers. Norm was the proud owner of Rogers Roofing Company where he employed family members, son Danny and nephew Jimmy Chadima.
Norm would point out the many beautiful church steeples he repaired all over Medina and Akron whenever we were driving with him.
He leaves behind his children, Debra Price of Medina, Tammy Myers (David) of Medina and Dan Rogers (Becky) of Doylestown. Grandchildren Holly Murphy, Lauren Barrios, Jessica Hafer, Jared Miller, Samantha Lange, Robert Price and Tyler Smead. Great Grandchildren Cohen ,Elliot, Westin, Miles, Shean and Quinn.
Preceding Norman in death were his wife Cheryl and daughter Lisa D’Angelo and all five of his siblings, Betty, Ned, Jean, Bud and Nancy.
Norm enjoyed deer hunting, playing softball, shooting pool especially with his daughter Debbie and going on cruises and family vacations to Las Vegas and Disney World.
Norm had a beautiful singing voice like a canary and was an amazing whistler. When he wasn’t on a roof he enjoyed tending to his lake and flower and vegetable garden he and Cheryl tended together. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends and dropping in on them to have a cold one.
We will miss sitting around Norm and Cheryl’s kitchen table sharing laughs and stories during those unforgettable times. He was the last and youngest sibling to pass but he has left us in the loving arms of family, cousins, and dear friends. Norm truly loved all of you.
A family service was held at West Richfield Cemetery where he is buried with his wife Cheryl.
A Celebration of Norm’s life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Granger Lake Clubhouse, 200 Granger Road, Medina. All are welcome!
The family wishes to thank all the special family and friends who helped us from beginning to end especially Sherri Kroslak, RN, Donna Hunyadi (prayer) and Becky Rogers, RN. And thank you to the nurses from Cleveland Clinic Home Hospice.
Our father was one of a kind and as he would always say
“They just don’t make them like they used to”!
Norm says ”CHEERIO TO ALL”
