Pamela A. Cole passed away peacefully in hospice care after a year-long battle with cancer on August 16, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on September 26, 1949, to Henry and Jean Hart in Akron, Ohio.
She was a 1967 graduate of Buchtel High School. She was also a loyal Girl Scout, earning the highest honor, the Curved bar, and was a troop leader for many years. She then continued her education at The University of Akron, majoring in Education, and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Pam and Patrick met at the Army ROTC meeting, both in Army uniforms, representing their special groups. After several months of dating, they were engaged to be married on April 4, 1970, at Christ United Methodist Church. They honeymooned in Daytona Beach, Florida. A few weeks later they moved to Fort Lee, Virginia for Patrick's Basic Training and first assignment at the Quartermaster School. It was a wonderful beginning to their 54 year marriage.
Pam was a gifted florist and as the owner of her own business, she specialized in wedding flowers. She was amazingly creative and made memorable home cooked meals for her family and friends.
Pam was a faithful woman of God with exceptional character and grace. She was truly one of a kind, embodying steadfast devotion, and a deeply caring nature. Pam studied the Bible faithfully and taught and served in bible studies and through her church. She had a deep gift in hospitality and service to others. Pam brought joy to those around her with her kind heart and generous spirit as a humble servant of the Lord. Pam's steadfast faith in the Lord, strong character and moral integrity inspired everyone she met to be better and to make the world a better place.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Patrick E. Cole; son Scott Cole (Wendy) and daughter Emily Semmelroth (Scott); grandchildren, Brookelynn (Brett) Cingle, Micah Semmelroth, Owen Semmelroth, Weston Cole, Caeleigh Cole and Isaac Semmelroth; and sisters Linda Mishler (Rod) and Betsy Inks (Dave).
